E-Cards - E-cards.com

As you may have expected, e-cards.com specializes in, that's right, e-cards! Launched in 1995, e-cards.com is run by a 4 person crew in San Francisco, California. They appear to use their website as a means to provide support to various environmental groups, like the World Wildlife Fund, The Green Schools Initiative, The New American Dream, Grist Magazine, Environmental Defense, and the Natural Resources Defense Council. They donate both advertising space and a percentage of their revenues to these causes.

E-cards at this particular site are fee-based and internet users are offered three different membership options.

The Bronze Account will receive the following features:

Reminder Calender that e-mails you before important dates occur!
• Special E-Cards -- unavailable elsewhere!
• E-mail Address Book to expedite the card sending process!
• Favorites Area to store your favorite card images!
• Cardbox to keep track of all your saved and sent E-Cards!
• Schedule Cards to be sent on a future date!
• Use special Stamps in any E-Card you send!

Bronze members also have the option to purchase an Image Scrapbook & Uploader and no advertisements for an additional $2 and $3, respectively.

The Silver Account, which is apparently the best value of the three accounts, offers these options:

• All features found in the Bronze Account, plus...
• The E-Cards Image Uploader and Scrapbook with 1 megabyte of space!
• No Advertisements!
* E-Cards will also donate $1 to one of our non-profit partners.

The Silver Account is $17 for a one year membership.

The Gold Account appears to be the most comprehensive of the three at $20 per year with the following features:

• All Features found in the Silver Account, plus...
• An additional megabyte of Image Uploader/Scrapbook space.
• Special stamps for your E-Cards!
* E-Cards will also donate $2 to one of our non-profit partners.
• Gold account members may also make a personal contribution to E-Cards
-- Contributions help keep our site running, keep us smiling, and assure your premiere status on our site!
-- Every dollar contributed helps sponsor 100 advertisements for one of our non-profit partners on E-Cards' regular website.
-- Contributions above $35 will be split between E-Cards and a selected E-Cards non-profit partner you may designate.
-- People contributing $50 or more will receive a free Ceramic Mug by postal mail.

Despite the fact that E-Cards.com has a smaller selection of e-cards and that it requires a paid membership, the cards offered (drawings and photographs) of animals and nature scenes are rather beautiful, and the membership fees go toward a good cause. Whether you're an environmental enthusiast or simply enjoy great e-cards, this site is worth checking out.
